Finding a Job

Information

Finding a job is never easy, especially when in a new environment. Things to consider when looking for work include:

  • Be sure you have all the identification required for a job. This may include your birth certificate and driver’s license.
  • Learn to write a good cover letter and resume. This can be learned at places such as the Centre for Aboriginal Human Resource Development (see contact information below) and Osborne Village Resource Centre.
  • Check the internet, newspaper and job banks for work. This should be done on a daily basis and you should expect to apply for several jobs a day.
  • Learn to speak with confidence and clearly when at an interview. The first impression leaves a lasting imprint. The resource centres listed below can help you with this.
