The Manitoba Inuit Association receives a small amount of annual funding from the Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada (Government of Canada) and some project funds from various sources, such as Aboriginal and Northern Affairs (Manitoba Government), Manitoba Metis Federation and small grant programs for community projects.
A volunteer board leads us, which guide the activities of the organization. Our Executive Director works to raise funds to carry out the projects that bring our community together, as we seek to improve education, training, employment, health and wellbeing opportunities for Inuit in Manitoba.
** MIA is a not-for-profit organization. We are in the process of seeking charitable registration status with the Government of Canada. Until we have successfully obtained charitable status, we are not able to issue charitable receipts on donations for income tax purposes. However, we do appreciate any donations, and any donors can be assured their efforts will be recognized!
